The Pinnacle Lady Panthers easily beat the Navajo Mountain Lady Jaguars 61-50 Friday night. Pinnacle led the entire game and coach Robert Harmon was pleased with the progress his team is making. It showed as they defeated Monument Valley in an exciting 50-49 overtime win over Monument Valley on Saturday.

The Saturday match-up was a back-and-forth battle. Maggie Syrette hit a free throw to send the game into overtime. Raycee Birch put in the game winning layup to give Pinnacle its first victory ever over Monument Valley.

“If we can keep the right combinations of girls on the floor and keep them out of foul trouble, we are a pretty good team,” he said. “If we can keep putting things together, we could earn a trip to state and I believe we can be competitive with the better teams.”

“The girls have finally understood that hitting those free throws can be game changing,” said Harmon.

On Friday night Birch lead all scorers with 19 points and Dallenie Palletta added 15 to the winning effort. Saturday night had a balanced scoring attack with 15 points from Syrette, Birch posted 13 and Courtney Hunter added 12.
