Facing off against Rockwell on Tuesday, the Pinnacle boys’ basketball team faced off against the Marshals and walked away with a 66-52 loss.
The first found the Marshals leading 18-11. Pinnacle continued to attempt a win in the second, but ended the first half lagging behind 32-24.
The Panthers put up 14 in both the third and fourth, but it wasn’t enough to secure the overall victory against the host team.
Valentin Acosta led his team in scoring at the faceoff, netting 16 points and three three-pointers while Kaden Daughters landed 11 for Pinnacle. Teammates Andrew Arellano and Jessen Welch netted a three-point shot apiece.
Looking to continue their action, the Pinnacle boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will both travel to Navajo Mountain this Friday, hoping to secure another victory.
