In October of 2017, the Castleview Hospital Urgent Care celebrated the addition of the Pinnacle Peak Pharmacy. This pharmacy worked well connected to the urgent care, though it welcomed patrons from all over the area, even boasting a drive-thru for easy prescription pickup.
However, the hospital recently made the difficult decision to close the pharmacy, which was located at 317 East 100 North. According to Castleview officials, as a community hospital and regional referral center, they are committed to prioritizing under-resourced services as access to care for patients is expanded.
“When we opened Pinnacle Peak Pharmacy in 2017, we sought to provide a valuable service to our patients in the region to support local access to prescription medications,” Castleview shared. “In the years since, our community has welcomed new pharmacies, and we are pleased to see that our patients now have the ability to choose a preferred pharmacy among at least five other retail locations in Price.”
The last day of operation for the pharmacy was on May 29 and the hospital stated that they ensured that patients’ transition to a new pharmacy was as smooth as possible. Patients were able to choose their new pharmacy, though if they did not choose, the prescriptions were transferred to Price Family Pharmacy.
“As we close this chapter, we are grateful to the dedicated employees who have served our patients over the last seven years and appreciate the community’s support of Pinnacle Peak Pharmacy,” concluded Castleview Hospital.
