Brendan Neumier recently took second place at a Hoisting with Heart weightlifting competition. The student from Pinnacle Canyon Academy competed against seven other young men for the title.
Hoisting with Heart, an olympic weightlifting tournament that raises money for Special Olympics, was established in 2010 by James Moore. According to the organization’s website, the spirit of the tournament is to showcase Utah’s best Olympic weightlifters, donate the money raised to Utah Special Olympics and afford Special Olympic athletes the opportunity to compete in the sport.
