Pinnacle Students Practice Chalk Art at Peace Gardens

For two hours on Friday, students from Pinnacle Canyon Academy made a giant chalk drawing on the cement at the Price City Peace Gardens.

Themes from several video games, cartoons and a little patriotism showed up in the drawings. All of the drawings put together spelled the word “PINNACLE.”

Principal Mark Stuckenschneider had this to say about the drawing: “The drawing was part of our elementary summer camp.  We have a 13 week summer camp which focuses on academics, life skills, and leisure/recreation activities.  Last week was “art week”.  As part of art week the kids made several art pieces with our high school art teacher – Mr. Cilli.  The conclusion of this week was to produce a sidewalk chalk mural saying, “Pinnacle”.  We approached the city council last Wednesday, and received glowing approval.  The kids incorporated some of the math skills they learned during academics to break the 17 ft. by 40 ft. mural down into sections, then each kid took a section to color in.”
