The Pinnacle Panthers continued their winning ways last week in Escalante, upending the Moquis 68-59 and picking up their sixth win of the year. Pinnacle won just seven games last season.
In a game that featured 51 fouls and 69 free throws attempted, Levi Rutherford led all scorers in the game with 22 points. Skylar Graves nailed four threes en route to 19 points. Brandon Otto snagged 12 boards for a game high while chipping in nine points. Val Acosta also poured in nine points.
The Panthers scored 27 points in the second quarter after falling behind by eight after one period of play. They would win the remaining quarters as well to pick up the win.
Pinnacle (6-3, 0-0 Region 19) will host Green River to begin region action on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The girls will play at 7. Both games can be viewed live on ETV Channel 6.
