The Green River Pirates took their third straight region loss with a defeat against Monument Valley on Friday.
Monument Valley edged out the traveling Pirates 65-58 to take the Region 19 win. The teams are split 1-1 in the series with Green River earning a win back on Jan. 19, 57-45.
The Pirates’ schedule boasts only three games remaining in region play, including contests against Wayne, Whitehorse and Monticello. Green River (4-11, 2-4 Region 19) will travel to take on #2 Wayne (12-5, 6-1 Region 19) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip.
The Green River squad will return home for a matchup against Whitehorse on Saturday before rounding out region play against Monticello next week.
