Police Arrest Duo Suspected of Dealing Meth, Heroin

On Sunday during the early evening hours, Price City Police Officer Drew Olson developed information that significant drug dealing was occurring at 245 S 200 E. This is the shared residence of Matthew Allen Savage, DOB 4-5-72, and Malisa Marie Wallberg, DOB 4-14-87. Officer Olson applied to the Seventh District Court for a search warrant, which was granted.

Officer Olson, assisted by other Price City officers, Carbon County deputies and Carbon Metro Drug Task Force agents, served the search warrant just after midnight early Monday morning. Upon entry, Wallberg was allegedly located in a bathroom attempting to flush drugs down the toilet. Mr. Savage was located in the master bedroom and was initially not compliant with officer instructions, but ultimately was safely taken into custody.

Numerous items of paraphernalia were located and seized, along with over 44 grams of heroin, two Narcan dose applicators, over 58 grams (slightly over 2 ounces) of meth, five grams of marijuana and a little over $3,200 cash.

Savage and Wallberg were booked into jail on felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Heroin With Intent to Distribute, and misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia. Wallberg was also booked on a felony charge of Tampering With Evidence. The Carbon County Attorney’s Office will review the report to determine which formal charges to file.

According to court records, Savage has several previous arrests, including a pending drug distribution case. According to court records, Wallberg also has several previous drug and theft related arrests. She is currently on a plea in abeyance agreement with the Seventh District Court dated 2/8/16 for a previous drug distribution charge.
