On Saturday afternoon at approximately 12:30 p.m., an accident occurred near the Junction of SR 10 and SR 29 near Castle Dale in Emery County. Utah Highway Patrol, among others, responded to the accident. Two cars were eastbound on the road that has a stop sign.
The first car stopped at the sign and proceeded safely southbound. The second, however, failed to do so and was struct by the first vehicle. It is unsure at this time whether drugs or alcohol was involved in the accident. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital due to injuries.
The driver was in critical condition when transported. A short time afterward, he passed away due to his injuries.
