The Prehistoric Museum unveiled its newest and “most ambitious” exhibit yet on Saturday afternoon to the public. This newly built exhibit features the ancient cliff dwellers of Southeastern Utah.
The new exhibit includes a full-sized walk-through cliff dwelling apartment while highlighting artifacts that were recovered from the Westwater (Five Kiva) Cliff Dwelling near Blanding, Utah. A representation of the daily life in 1245 AD during the cliff dwelling’s peak is shown throughout the exhibit.
After the exhibit was presented, Cedars State Park Museum’s Curator of Collections, Dr. Jonathan Till, gave a lecture to those in attendance. The lecture was based upon the excavations and research of the Westwater Cliff Dwelling during the 1970s. Admission was free to the public during the unveiling so that individuals could explore the new exhibit as well as view any new ones that were installed earlier this year.
