Union’s Kaycee Prevedel broke the hearts of the Carbon Softball Team for a second time this season, striking out 13 hitters and holding the Lady Dinos to just two hits in last night’s game.
The Dinos certainly came into the match-up with hopes of beating their region rivals after narrowly losing to Union by a score of 3-2 in their last meeting, but Union came to play. Ranked #17 in the state by the Deseret News, the Cougars’ lights-out pitcher and consistent offense were too much for Carbon.
Shaylie Jones was the only bright spot for Carbon, hitting another double for her team, but with little life from rest of the offense, the Dinos had no chance against Union, and got blanked 8-0.
The win puts Union in the top spot in Carbon’s region and makes it impossible for the Lady Dinos to move out of third.
Up next for the team is a match-up against Park City on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
