After defeating Olympus 12-1 in five innings June 17 and capturing an 18-7 win against East last Wednesday, Price American Legion Baseball struggled in Helper during last weekend’s tournament.
According toWillie Ellington, Price American Legion head coach, the team did not win a game in Helper. Ellington explained that the kids got down after opening the tournament with a loss to Helper Thursday.
Despite trouble at the tournament, Price played strong against both Olympus and East last week. The team walked away with a convincing win at home against Olympus. Caden Sherman earned the win in the game and Zac Hathaway went 2-3 with a home run and a double.
Price also defeated East last week on the road as Braydon Tubbs pitched the entire game which ended in five innings, 18-7. Braxton Jones had three RBIs during the game and Kellen Trujillo had three runs, two RBIs and went 3-4 at the plate.
