Price City’s Main Street was awash with shamrocks, citizens and the color green as a number of events were hosted on Saturday for the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

Beginning at 9 a.m., those that wanted to start the day with a workout gathered at the Washington Federal Bank with a pair of shoes to donate for the second annual 5K Fun Run. These donated shoes will be given to the United Way of Eastern Utah Soles 2 Souls program. The shoe donation was welcomed in lieu of any entrance fee for the 5K.

Following the 5K promptly at noon, Price City’s Main Street was shut down as the sidewalk was lined with eager parade-goers to enjoy the annual anticipated St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

This year’s parade featured local Megan Marshall as the grand marshal and had many familiar faces from Helper Cheer, the Desert Wave Pool, KUSA the Buzz, Active Re-Entry’s PAWS Program and more.

Abel Aragon, resident of Price City, once again walked the parade route to hand out two dollar bills to children, for no other reason than to give back to the community.
