Price City Press Release

The Price River Valley is an arid region prone to frequent dry spells and even drought. The water resources supporting our community are limited to the reservoir, river, springs, wells and several tributaries. It is important to manage the flow of water from these resources in order to maintain a sufficient quantity in storage to assure adequate water delivery from year to year.

Restricting water use has proven to be ineffective, creating an impulse to utilize even more waterdefeating the purpose of trying to hold back the flow of water. Voluntary wise water use, conservation and self monitoring to account for water use, should be common practice. We want to keep sufficient water levels in storage to support human life and firefighting reserves.

We made it through the drought of 1992, we can do it again in 2015! Just slow the flow.
