Price City Police Chief Kevin Drolc was born in Idaho, yet raised in Helper and East Carbon. He graduated from East Carbon High School in 1975 and married his wife, Janice, in 1984. Together, they have two daughters.

Upon returning from a served mission, Drolc began work for the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office in 1979. He worked there for eight years before transferring to the Price City Police Department (PCPD). He has worked there for a total of 32 years and served as chief for seven of those years.

When asked what his favorite part of working as chief was, he stated that, without question, it was the people that he worked with. Drolc stated that the officers are incredibly professional, work hard and are dedicated.

“Just the finest group of people you could know,” Drolc said. “The police officers in this community are the best of the best and the community is very fortunate to have people like them working here.”

The hardest part of being an officer, to Drolc, is the politics and the second guessing. His fondest memory of his job is any of the times that he felt as if he made a difference in people’s lives.

Upon retirement, one of Drolc’s biggest plans is to help with his grandchildren and spend an ample amount of time with his family as he and his wife plan to stay in the area.

He will officially enter into retirement on Sept. 13 and Brandon Sicilia will serve as the new Chief of Police for the PCPD.
