Price City Recorder Sherrie Gordon was honored at the regularly scheduled Price City Council meeting that took place on Wednesday evening. Gordon has been working diligently to receive the Municipal Clerk Certification, putting in 240 hours of class time.
A representative traveled from Ephraim to present a plaque to Gordon, stating that a lot of work goes into receiving this certification. Along with the class time, papers must be written and years of experience must be put in. Generally, it takes nearly three years to complete the certification, which is akin to an associates degree.
The representative went on to state that Gordon is often seen at the conferences and is known to be a hard worker. It was also requested that Gordon continues to receive support as she continues on to receive her masters, which takes another three years. The representative stated that she felt it is essential for the cities to have such professionals.
Gordon was then awarded with a plaque as well as a plant basket. Once receiving her award, Gordon expressed her sincere appreciation and thanks to the mayor and city council.
