The Price City Progress Community recently invited all residents to get outside and assist in painting the crosswalks on the city’s Main Street.
The event was hosted on Monday and took place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A crosswalk on the street had previously been decorated for a Music, Meals and Mingle event and this time, the community joined in on the fun.
The artful activity was intended to promote beautification and pedestrian safety in the downtown area and all were welcome with no artistic experience needed. What resulted was a beautiful display of flowers, bunnies, bees and more arranged on the crosswalks. Approximately 30 community members came to lend a hand.
Popsicles and water were donated for the event courtesy of Emery Telcom while the paint brushes and supplies were purchased by the committee.
David Black donated extra brushes and Breinholt’s Southeastern Paint and Design dug up research as well as assisted in a compilation of the materials needed, giving a great deal on the paint and supplies. The business was also on-hand for additional rollers and brushes as needed for such a large crowd.
“The Price City Progress committee wants to thank every one, including the Price City Youth Council, that showed up and contributed to this great project,” stated city councilwoman and committee spearhead Terry Willis.
