Springville visited Price and the Price American Legion Raptors Tuesday, taking both games of a doubleheader by a combined score of 36-1.
In a 14-0 loss, Price got a single by Liam Bloomer and Stetson Motte on back-to-back at-bats in the first inning before Springville got the last two batters to go in order to end the inning. Springville allowed just 13 batters and no hits the rest of the game in the shutout. Jaxson Carlisle threw 83 pitches for the loss.
It was much of the same in another matchup between the two teams. Again, Price was able to get two players on base, a single by Zac Gibson and walk by Bloomer, before Springville retired the side in the first inning. Price got three more hits in the game, singles in the third by Gibson and Michael Tallerico. Remington Motte had the last hit in the game in the fourth, a single. He would later score on an RBI groundout by Nate Velasquez. Stetson Motte took the loss on the mound in the four-inning, 22-1 loss.
Price will host Westlake at 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
