Price Duo Arrested on Aggravated Kidnapping, Assault and Robbery Charges

Two Price men were arrested following an incident that resulted in aggravated kidnapping, assault and robbery charges over the weekend,.

According to the Price City Police Department, dispatch received a report on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. from a local citizen stating that a man was in their front yard, bleeding from the face and claiming he had been held hostage and assaulted. Authorities responded to the scene, where they found the man with a laceration on his forehead. The man also had other contusions and marks to indicate a recent assault.

The man told police that he had been beaten, kicked and had his life threatened. Police report that the man identified the suspects as Spencer Sweeney and Jacob Holt. The injured man also told police about the home where he had been allegedly held hostage and the vehicle that the other two men were driving.

The officers continued their investigation at the home where they found evidence of a struggle, including blood present at the scene. Reportedly, an argument had begun outside of the home when the three men got in a dispute over stolen property. The argument moved inside, according to police, where Sweeney and Holt would not let the third man leave.

Sweeney and Holt allegedly assaulted the third man while they kept him in the home. The injured man was ultimately transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Sweeney was arrested on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, written false statement and criminal conspiracy. Holt was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy as well as a 72-hour hold.
