The Price American Legion team lost a close battle to St. George in game one of a doubleheader last week in Beaver, 12-9. The team then fell in game two by a 7-2 score.

Meeting in Beaver to split the distance between the two teams, Price held a 7-6 lead entering the seventh when it gave up six runs to St. George. Price rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it interesting before their opponents closed the door for good. Caden Sherman had two singles in the game, including a three-run single in the third, an inning in which Price scored four runs to take a 4-2 lead. The team had 11 total hits in the game.

St. George led 4-2 after two innings and never looked back in game two, securing the doubleheader sweep. Johny Tallerico was the lone Price player to have two hits in the game with a double and a single. Cody Lowe, Steven Zamantakis, Brayden Tubbs, Isaiah Martinez and Sherman each had singles in the game.

Next up for Price will be another doubleheader against St. George in Beaver on July 17.
