Price American Legion finished its season Friday against Corner Canyon with two wins that came via forfeit. Price also played at Cyprus July 14 and hosted Herriman on Wednesday. Price lost by a combined score of 26-5 in both games.

Against league-leading Cyprus, Price tied the score in the third at three after four singles from Zac Hathaway, Caden Sherman, Jeter Tubbs and Steven Zamantakis. A nine-run inning in the bottom of the third and another run in the fourth by Cyprus ended the game via the mercy rule. Caden Sherman pitched three innings and gave up 12 runs. Isaiah Martinez relieved Sherman in the third to get the final out.

Price then hosted Herriman, which ended up being the team’s final home game of the season. Herriman led 5-1 after three innings and scored seven more in the last two innings to coast by Price 13-2.

Tubbs recorded two hits and a RBI. Brendan Johnson had the other RBI on a double in the second inning. Hathaway started on the mound and threw 83 pitches over three innings. Anthony MacLean and Nick Rukavina came in for relief over the last four innings.

Sherman, Hathaway and Kellen Trujillo were picked to represent Price in the American Legion all-star game on Saturday in Magna. The trio joined Mark DeBry, Colton Greener, Dominic Rondinelli and Blake Bean from Helper on the team. Players from Price, Helper, Cyprus and Judge, the West team, played against players from Herriman, Murray, Corner Canyon and Highland, the East team, in a nine-inning game at Magna Park. East beat West in extra innings 8-5.
