Sally Mauro Elementary gladly welcomed Mr. Jarad Hardy as the new principal before the 2016-17 school year began.
Jarad is originally from Brigham City, Utah, where he was born and raised. He graduated with a bachelors in history and a minor in political science from Weber State University. He later gained a masters degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Before deciding to become a teacher, he pursued a career in journalism and graduated from the police academy. We often joke that with all of the schooling he has under his belt, he could have been a doctor.
His first job in education was teaching history, geography and health at Mont Harmon Middle School, where he taught for eight years. He also coached wrestling, football and basketball during his time at Mont Harmon and freshman baseball at Carbon High School.
He is a huge sports fan and lives for BYU football games. He lives in Price with his wife, Emily, son, Easton (12), and daughters, Kamdyn (8) and Grace (5). Jarad has been an excellent administrator and has implemented many great new things at Sally Mauro the last few years. The students and staff appreciate him and all he has brought to the school.
