By Book Cliff Elementary School Staff Member
Our faculty and staff has had the privilege of being represented, as principal, by Mr. JR Jones for the past three years. He has made phenomenal changes at Book Cliff Elementary in such a short span of time.
For Mr. Jones, the greatest success as principal are obviously his amazing rapport with both the students and the parents. This is more effective when issues are addressed immediately and consistently. He also shows an intrinsic excitement about learning. Therefore, our students have begun to exhibit that same enthusiasm as well.
As far as parents and community are concerned, Mr. Jones has begun to make many needed improvements within the school setting and the learning environment as a whole. This helps improve our community’s attitude toward the educational system.
Mr. Jones has also served as a first grade, sixth grade and resource educator at Book Cliff Elementary. He completed his student teaching in Nuevo Casas Grande, Mexico, his practicums in St. George, Utah and his student teaching at Enoch Elementary. He received his Master’s Degree from Southern Utah University.
Some of Mr. Jones’s favorite hobbies outside of educating students are: drawing, listening to music and camping with his family. He has been a valued asset to this community and Book Cliff Elementary for many years.
