On Friday morning, progress began to be made on a previously proposed boulder park to replace the volleyball court located next to the Helper Walkway. The decision was made by the Helper City Council to install the boulder park due to the volleyball court being severely under-utilized and seeing a need to improve the area with something for the youth in the city to engage in.
According to recently elected Helper City Council member Malarie Matsuda, resources that were readily available are being used. Boulders were removed from the streets during the water line project as well as left over construction remnants.
“When it is finished, we will have an awesome play area complete with tunnels, sand and boulders. Excellent work today, Helper City,” Matsuda stated.
