PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Carbon County School Board is seeking persons interested in serving as an interim Carbon County School Board Member to fill a vacated seat on the board.  The term for this interim position will expire December 2024.  Applicants must be a resident of District #2 (36 South County, 38 Carbonville, 39 Westwood, and 40 Miller Creek Special).  Persons interested in serving on the school board in this interim capacity must submit their interest in writing along with proof of residence to Heather Martines at Carbon School District Office 251 West 400 North Price, UT or email to martinesh@carbonschools.org.  

Proof of residency may be demonstrated by a copy of a driver’s license, recent utility bill (gas, water, electric, phone, cable) or other such official document that includes the full name and the address.  Qualified individuals interested in serving as the interim board member must submit their interest in writing along with their proof of residence by 4:00 p.m. on August 20, 2021.  The Carbon County School Board will appoint someone to fill the vacancy at their Special Board Meeting on August 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Each of the interested individuals who meet the qualifications will be interviewed at that time prior to the school board making a selection.  The meeting will be held at the District Office located at 251 West 400 North, Price, UT 84501.  For answers to questions regarding this notice please call (435) 613-3126 or email martinesh@carbonschools.org.
