This Board meets twice per year, more if necessary. The focus is on the promotion of tourism and the development of tourism related facilities within Carbon County. Board members are responsible for making recommendations to the County Commission for the expenditure of the restaurant sales tax and transient room tax collected in Carbon County. The Board must be composed of members living within Carbon County and pursuant to UCA § 17-31-8 a majority of the members must be current employees of entities operating restaurants, hotel/lodging businesses or short-term lease and rentals of motor vehicles within Carbon County. The balance of the board members must be employees of recreational facilities, convention facilities, museums, cultural attractions, or other tourism-related industries located within Carbon County.
