PUBLIC NOTICE | VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF MAYOR

Wellington City is accepting applications to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term of Wellington City Mayor. Brad O. Timothy resigned as Mayor of Wellington effective September 24, 2024.

The vacancy in the office of Mayor will be filled by an interim appointment to finish out the unexpired four-year term as Mayor. The interim appointment will be in effect until January following the next Municipal Election held in 2025.

The appointment will take place during the regular Council Meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., Wellington City Hall, 150 W Main Street, Wellington, UT 84542

Persons interested must meet the qualifications listed below:
-​Be a United States Citizen.
-​Be at least 18 years old.
-​Be a resident of the municipality or a resident of the recently ​​​annexed area for 12 consecutive months.
-​Be a registered voter of the municipality.
-​In accordance with Utah Constitution, Article IV, Section 6, a ​​​mentally incompetent individual, an individual convicted of a ​​​​felony, or an individual convicted of treason or a crime against the ​elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to ​​​hold elective office is restored under Section 20A-2-101.3 or ​​​20A-2-101.5.

Applications may be obtained at the City Office. Applications must be submitted to the City Recorder, prior to the deadline of Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
