Sam White, Public Utilities Supervisor for Price City’s Public Works, was honored at the Price City Council meeting that took place on Wednesday evening. White was presented with a 30-year service award.
Public Works Director Miles Nelson first spoke on behalf of White, stating that he provides great customer service, manages work within the department well and is glad to schedule unexpected projects such as water leaks. White was given a party of sorts within the department beforehand to celebrate.
Nelson stated that White is also efficient and conservative with the budget and his area of safety leadership is unsurpassed.
“He has been a great example to all of us,” Nelson stated.
A gag was then played on White when he was presented with a false award that had mistakes crossed out and corrected. Nelson presented him with the actual award after the joke had been made, stating that White was always a joker himself.
White then thanked Nelson and the council and stated that he appreciates being honored.
