After dropping their first two games of the season to the Helper Merchants last week, the Price American legion Raptors dropped two on Saturday to Pleasant Grove and Dixie, respectively.
Against Pleasant Grove, Nathan Velasquez got the only hit for the Raptors, a single that came in the fourth inning. Pleasant Grove won the game 16-0 after five innings of play.
The team then turned around a couple of hours later to take on Dixie at Skyridge High School in Lehi. Again, a lone single by Price kept a no-hitter off the table, which came off the bat of Liam Bloomer in the second inning. Dixie scored in every inning, including three runs in the fifth to end the game via the mercy rule, 18-0.
Price will be in action Tuesday with another road contest, this time at Taylorsville, and then at Roosevelt on Wednesday.
