The American Legion Auxiliary is celebrating 100 years of caring for veterans, military and their families. The American Legion Auxiliary was officially organized on Nov. 10, 1919. It is a patriotic service organization that works with the American Legion to assist and honor veterans and their families.

In honor of this anniversary, the Orangeville Unit #39 is recognizing five dedicated women for the many years of service they have given to the unit. Some have been members for more than 60 years. These ladies are Georgia Gardner, Jeanne Scovill, Murleen Bean, Grace Humphrey and Joan Huntington, who has been a continuous member for 66 years.
