Frank Ori is a name that is well-known to this community for many reasons. As a man that wears many hats in his day to day life, Ori can be located in many areas throughout any given day completing multiple tasks for the community that he enjoys so much.

Director of Carbon Recreation as well as the county fairgrounds, Ori organizes many events that take place in Carbon County. The recreation department is, according to Ori, probably one of the most diverse recreation programs in the nation, covering everything from shooting sports to T-ball.

While directing the recreation department, Ori also works at the local radio station 100.1 KUSA the Buzz as well as other various positions. With all of this hard work under his belt, it came as no surprise that Ori was awarded as the employee of the month for October at the most recent Carbon County Commission meeting.

Presented by Rose Barnes and Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood, the award was a physical tribute to the day to day labor that Ori puts into the community. Barnes spoke about Ori first, stating that she knows there has to be times that he is stressed, but the community and his co-workers would never be made aware because Ori always has a smile on his face.

“I can’t begin to thank him enough for all he does,” Barnes stated.

Barnes continued by stating that she wanted to thank him personally because she has had the pleasure to know him and work with him many times before. Sheriff Wood spoke then, beginning by stating that what he admires the most about Ori is his can-do attitude.

“I can’t say enough about Frank,” Wood stated.

Ori was then given time to speak briefly about himself, and began by stating that he always hated being in the spotlight and preferred to work behind the scenes, but was grateful to be recognized.

“I love what I do, so thanks for the opportunity,” Ori concluded.

Two of Ori’s coworkers, Connie Julian and Brenda Addley, shared information about Ori as well, stating that he goes above and beyond to help others. According to the pair, Ori has also been given a lot of responsibility within the county where he is doing a good job.

“He works hard to accommodate everyone with the same respect,” the staff members remarked.
