Region 12 golf began the season by meeting at the Carbon Country Club on Wednesday morning. Carbon and Emery competed against Richfield, Canyon View, Delta, North Sanpete, Manti and Juab.
Richfield dominated the day, ending with a winning team score of 294. They were followed by Juab at 308, Carbon at 315 and Emery at 332. Delta (334), Canyon View (354), Manti (358) and North Sanpete (375) rounded out the scoring.
Dayton King was the top scorer for Carbon with a 75 round. He was followed by fellow Dinos Kyler Clark, Rydge Butler and Jack Hedin with 79, 80 and 81, respectively. Sam Madrid scored 84, Kolten Wilkinson, 89, Cole Callahan, 90, and Jason Tatton Jr., 98.
For Emery High, the top swinger of the day was Dempsey Toomer with 78. Joey Leonard (80), Champ Justice (87) and Kade Larsen (87) also brought in great scores for the Spartans. The other Emery High scores came in at 93 for Turner Stoker, 95 for Logan Riley, and 103 for both Dakota Taney and Lincoln Perez.
