Region 12 MVP Goes to Scoggins, Three Others Earn All-Region Honors

Standout junior guard Jordan Scoggins was named Region 12’s most valuable player this week. Three other Lady Dinos were named to all-region squads as well.

Scoggins led Carbon in scoring during the regular season with a 12.7 per game average. She raised that average to 16 ppg during the Lady Dinos’ three-game run in this year’s 3A Playoffs. Scoggins scored in double figures in 18 of Carbon’s 25 games this season.

Scoggins’ best game of the year came in a quarterfinal matchup against the Stansbury Stallions in the 3A Playoffs, a game in which she scored a season-high 28 points and rallied her team to the win after connecting on four free throws to end overtime, earning a place in the semifinals.

Sophomore Lindsey Blanc (9.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 3.2 apg) and senior Taylor Oliver (5.3 ppg, 26 made 3-pointers) were first team selections. Jerika Morgan (4.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg.) was named to the honorable mention team.
