Several reports from local residents were made Monday evening, July 29 of a young boy missing near Castle Valley Center in Price. Heavy rain lead to Meads Wash flowing at full capacity. During this time, rumors began circulating that a child had wrecked an all-terrain vehicle in or around the wash. It was also reported that the child was missing.

Price City Police Captain, Bill Barnes confirmed that these reports were rumors only. “We did have a man wreck a machine (ATV) at the top of the wash that night,” he explained. “But there was no incident involving a missing child.”

Police responded immediately to the scene and found that the ATV operator had several warrants. The driver was taken into custody and suffered no injuries. “The machine was recovered the next day,” Barnes concluded.
