Representative Carl Albrecht, District 70, Reports on First Week of Session

Representative Albrecht hit the ground running this year! Having started with six Bills, he passed one out of the House the very first day and sent it to the Senate.  H.B. 23 will be floor sponsored by Senator Ralph Okerlund, District 24.  The session has already been a busy one for the Representative, as he has already presented three other bills in House Standing Committees.  Which will now come back to the House Floor to be voted upon.
Representative Albrecht has been appointed as a co-chair on the Natural Resource, Agriculture, and Environment Committee and presented In House Standing Committees:

  • Business and Labor
  • Public Utilities , Energy, and Technology
  • Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment.
Committees he serves on:
  • Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee
  • House Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Standing Committee Co-Chair
  • House Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology Committee
  • Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands
  • State Water Commission
On Thursday night Representative Albrecht attended a meeting concerning climate change and spoke with students from universities and high schools from around the state.  He presented issues that represent rural values and viewpoints.

Representative Albrecht involves himself in several other caucuses by attending:

  • Sportsman Caucus Tuesday morning (7:00)
  • Conservative Caucus Wednesday morning (7:00)
  • Rural Caucus Friday morning (7:00)

Representative Albrecht has interviewed with Salt Lake City Public Radio Stations to provide transparency for his bills and resolutions.  He also met with the Utah Rural Schools Superintendents on Thursday, and Fridaymorning he met with the Snow College Board to discuss ways that he could support our Education systems this year.
