REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMERY COUNTY EMS LIAISON/CONSULTANT

Emery County is requesting proposals from qualified individuals for the Emery County EMS Liaison/Consultant. The scope of work for this position includes but is not limited to the following: 

Coordinate Emery County Ambulance Service with the Utah Bureau of EMS regarding data collection, submission, and review. Submit annual fiscal reports to the Utah Bureau of EMS. Other assorted office tasks, letter writing, communicating, etc.

○ Attend, online or in person, and EMS Committee Meeting.

○ Attend other meetings as needed.

○ Correspond with Utah Bureau of  EMS Officials via phone or email as needed.

● Coordinate with the Emery County EMS Medical Director.  

● Attend Scheduled Meetings with the Hospital either Quarterly, Monthly, or both.  

● Represent Emery County Ambulance on Rural Director Assoc.

● Offer encouragement to Garage Leads on best management practices, and garage personnel issues.

● Work with EMS Coordinator to coordinate grant proposals, purchase needed equipment, EMS budget, policies & procedures, personnel issues, etc.

● Ensures compliance with all department policies and procedures. 

● Ensures department compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the operation of a Utah Ambulance 

● Coordinate with dispatch at the Sheriff’s office.

● Review and finalize all PCR reports (Patient Care Reports)

● Take calls and complaints from EMTs and Members of the community

● Maintains knowledge of EMS practices, injury management, and OSHA regulations.

● Possess good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and other electronic mediums. Computer skills and knowledge of basic computer software applications is valuable.

● Ability to respond quickly, appropriately, and effectively to crisis situations, function independently, maintain confidential materials and information, and work with individuals from various economic and social backgrounds.

● Plan Basic and Advanced Course Instructions and Supervise.

● Work with the Appointed Training Officer to plan county training and training schedule. 

● Actively recruit new EMTs

● MUST BE A RESIDENT OF EMERY COUNTY

RFQ must be submitted to the Emery County Clerk/Auditor’s Office by the end of the day (5:00 p.m.) on Friday, November 12, 2021. Submissions can be dropped off at the Clerk/Auditor’s Office during regular business hours, by mail at PO Box 907, Castle Dale, UT 84513, or by email to brendat@emery.utah.gov 

Submissions shall be opened and reviewed in Emery County Commission Meeting on November 16, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.
