REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR TRAINING OFFICER 

Emery County is requesting proposals from qualified individuals for the Emery County EMS Training Officer.  The scope of work for this position includes but is not limited to the following:

Works under the general guidance and direction of the EMS Liaison, and EMS Board.
• Coordinate and maintain EMT’s training and certifications.
• Ensure all members of the agency are affiliated with Emery County Ambulance
• Review and approve continuing education hours, and recertification applications
• Monitor license status of EMTs and help ensure that everyone stays current. Notify / help those whose licenses have lapsed
• Help EMTs with recertification, this is usually done by helping them organize their training hours, identify missing topics, or communicating with the state or NREMT to resolve issues
• Enter trainings, attendees, and topics into NREMT and ensure training records are up-to-date for all garages
• Field questions about training, recertification, issues, etc…
• Work with chairperson to plan county trainings
• Work with chairperson to plan a training schedule that will cover required areas for all EMTs over 2 years
• Oversees new EMT certification classes
• Actively recruit new EMTs

Requirements to be training officer
1. Must have Utah EMT – Advanced Certification
2. Be a state endorsed EMT Instructor
3. Be a state endorsed Training Officer
4. Understand the state and NREMT licensing requirements, recertification schedule, training requirements
5. Be able to communicate effectively with EMTs and help resolve their issues
6. MUST BE A RESIDENT OF EMERY COUNTY

RFQ must be submitted to the Emery County Clerk/Auditor’s Office by the end of the day (5:00 p.m.) on Friday, November 12, 2021. Submissions can be dropped off at the Clerk/Auditor’s Office during regular business hours, by mail at PO Box 907, Castle Dale, UT 84513, or by email to brendat@emery.utah.gov 

Submissions shall be opened and reviewed in Emery County Commission Meeting on November 16, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.
