Members of the South East Early Intervention Program welcomed the community to tour its new location in Price as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
Now located at 540 West Price River Drive, the intervention program aims to help infants and toddlers reach their developmental milestones. This program is unique in the fact that it is home-based, allowing families to receive services in a comfortable environment. The program serves infants and toddlers who have, or at risk for, developmental delays.
“This and other early intervention programs are available state-wide through the Utah Department of Health,” South East Early Intervention shared. “Early intervention services are free for those on Medicaid and/or WIC. For all other families, service cost is based on a family’s monthly income.”
Children from birth to three years of age qualify for the program, which helps with developmental delays, disabilities or diagnosed conditions with a high probability of resulting developmental delays.
“The mission of the South East program is to provide families with the knowledge and tools to enhance their child’s growth and development,” the program shared. “Program staff implements family-centered practices which support the philosophy that a family’s concerns, values, priorities and resources establish the framework for service. This process results in the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), which directs the specific services needed for the child and who will deliver those services. ”
