Members of the community gathered with the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate a ribbon cutting at Pick & Rail, a grocery store in Helper, on Wednesday. During the ribbon cutting, the chamber presented owner Todd Muse with his first dollar of business.

Muse recently purchased the old Workmen’s Market to create an enjoyable shopping experience for customers.

“I’ll be offering the best products, service and prices, then maybe I’ll get paid,” he said. “I’m doing this for my friends and family and the community.”

Muse had years of experience as a manager for Smith’s before purchasing the store in Helper. With nine people working at Pick & Rail, Muse hopes to compete with larger retailers like Kroger and Walmart by offering superior service.
