Robert Fredrick Reynolds Sr.

SEPTEMBER 13, 1924-OCTOBER 26, 2019

Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed on from this life October 26th, 2019 at the age of 95. Robert Fredrick Reynolds Sr. was born September 13th, 1924 in Winter Quarters, Utah to Louis Clifford Reynolds and Mable Mary Kimber. Robert was raised primarily in Columbia, Utah where he made many lifelong friends including his sweetheart LaVay Mary Poglajen.

Robert was drafted into the United States Army on September 9th, 1943 and served in Germany during World War II. He was a combat radio specialist and a sharpshooter. After returning home, Robert and LaVay were married on September 8th, 1946. They had two children, Lynda Dianne and Robert F. Reynolds Jr (Bobby).

Robert was an amazing man, and dedicated his life to serving his family. He was a very hard worker and loved staying busy. Skilled in many crafts, he worked several different jobs to support his family. During his life he worked for the railroad, was a coal miner, and was the head custodian at East Carbon High School.

Robert and LaVay made a loving home for their family and it was the favorite place to be for their grandchildren. Many precious memories were made there and will be cherished. He also had many hobbies. He loved to camp, hunt and fish, and was an excellent fly fisherman. Robert could fix, make or build anything. Serving his family brought him great joy, and he served them in every way he could. Robert loved his wife and family so very dearly.

Robert is survived by and will be deeply missed by Lynda Dianne Norton (daughter), Sandra Lee Reynolds (daughter-in-law), Dona Malleis (sister), Harold (Arvonna) Reynolds (brother), Burt (MaryAnn) Reynolds (brother), 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by LaVay Mary Reynolds (wife), Robert F. Reynolds, Jr. (son), Tami Lynn Norton (granddaughter), Stacee Marie Norton (granddaughter), Jack Reynolds (brother), Betty Dierks (sister), Barry Ross Norton (son-in-law).

Services entrusted to Mitchell’s Funeral Home (233 East Main St.) in Price, Utah where a viewing will be held Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00pm with a small service following. Interment with military honors, Price City Cemetery, Price.
