Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Controlled Substances, Arrest of One Man

On Tuesday at approximately 1 a.m., Wellington Reserve Officer Parker initiated a traffic stop in the area of 2300 E. Main in Wellington. The driver was identified as James Dee Andrus, 35 years old. Officer Parker learned that James had several outstanding warrants. It was also learned that the plates on the vehicle did not belong to the vehicle James Andrus was driving. Officer Parker placed James under arrest for the warrants. 

During the traffic stop, Officer Parker located 19 balloons of heroin, 24 balloons of cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a scale commonly used to weigh narcotics.

Officer Parker booked James into the Carbon County jail on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Distribution of a Controlled substance, improper registration and no insurance. James also had $525, which was seized.
