On Friday and Saturday, the Buckhorn Archery Club hosted the 2014 Royal Rut Ranch 3rd Annual 3-D Archery Fun Shoot.
The Royal Rut Ranch offered three archery courses with over 24 targets for archers to practice shooting. A short kid’s course was also available for the younger archery enthusiasts.
The Royal Rut Ranch is nine square miles of private wilderness and is located off Highway 191, approximately five miles from the Helper Power Plant.
The Royal Rut Ranch consists of wild and rugged land that has been preserved to offer trophy hunts with any choice of weapon. The base camp offers drive-up access and heated cabins.
Many prizes were given out for various archery shoots. Prizes included two one-day turkey hunts sponsored by the Royal Rut Ranch in Utah, one goose hunt sponsored by Top Gun Guide Service in Illinois, three five-day archery passes sponsored by North Springs Shooting Range in Utah, one gift certificate sponsored by Les Schwab, one two-day hog hunt sponsored by Bob Gallaway in Texas, $10,000 towards a 10-day hunt for four sponsored by Cape to Cairo Safari in Africa, a fully guided and outfitted whitetail hunt sponsored by Extreme Hunts in Illinois, a fully guided and outfitted hog hunt sponsored by Backbone Mountain Hunting Ranch in Oklahoma, a dozen custom wrapped arrows sponsored by Wrapem ‘N’ Wackem in Utah, archery equipment sponsored by Wilde Arrow Archery in Utah, decorative clocks sponsored by Reid Saxey in Utah and one deer mount sponsored by Bridge Taxidermy in Utah.
