The Price Youth Soccer Association soccer camp took place last week at the Carbon High soccer field.
This is the second year PYSA has hosted the camp, which included 75 participants. PYSA is hoping to get even more kids involved next year. The camp was broken out into two sessions; a morning session for the pee-wees and an afternoon session for the more experienced players.
The camp was directed by Mitch Bickmore, who over the last 14 years has obtained his USSF National “A” License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the NSCAA “Director of Coach” Diploma. Bickmore has worked as a full time coaching director in Kansas, Virginia, New Jersey and Colorado. Furthermore, he spent over a year in Mumba, India working with a semi-pro club as their technical director.
Pat McStay, men’s assistant coach at Randolph Macon College, was also in attendance, and the camp included Forza Futbol Club coaches. Forza Futbol Club is a soccer club headquartered in Bountiful, UT.
During the camp, participants took part in drills and exercises such as tic-tac-toe and one-on-one games.
“This camp gets kids involved and it teaches them skills for the game,” coach McStay said.
