The Emery County Sheriff’s Office received a call just after 12 p.m. Thursday regarding a runaway juvenile in the Cedar Mountain area.
According to ECSO captain Jeff Thomas, the 17-year-old teen ran away from Elements Wilderness Program, a troubled youth camp, located on Cedar Mountain.
ECSO, Emery County Search and Rescue, the Bureau of Land Management, a forest service ranger and employees from Elements Wilderness Program all assisted in the search for the teen following the call. The Utah Highway Patrol also contributed the help of a helicopter to the search.
The boy was found at approximately 7:50 p.m. Thursday evening. According to Thomas, the teen was in good condition and was promptly returned to the youth camp.
