Racers gathered at the Carbon County motocross track on Saturday for the Down N’ Dirty Mud Obstacle Race.
The muddy 5K began at the starting line of the motocross track. Racers ran through the track including a slippery slide down the dropoff. The race continued through other obstacles including climbing walls.
Immediately following the mud race, children participated in a miniature version of the event by slipping and sliding through an equally muddy course. Thanks to the Southeastern Utah District Health Department, children 12-years-old and younger were able to participate in the race for free. Wrapping up the muddy competition was a tug-of-war event.
All three events were part of the annual Carbon County Fair.
