During the Carbon School Board meeting held on Wednesday, May 8, the Carbon School District (CSD) agreed to an increase in salaries that will apply to all teachers and some classified employees.
In the negotiation summary for the 2024-2025 school year, CSD has agreed to a salary increase of 2.2%. The increase will include a step increase as well as a base increase throughout the salary schedule of $686.
With the district experiencing loss of enrollment and reduction in certain funding line items, CSD is estimated to receive fewer funds in the 2024-2025 school than previous years. To cover the proposed increases in salary and benefit costs, CSD has agreed to use fund balance to cover the cost.
CSD has also confirmed they will be including a one-time bonus of $250 for full-time employees and $125 bonus for part-time.
In addition, educators will be receiving one paid prep day for between semesters. Elementary teachers will receive three days of training in preparation for the USBE required ELA curriculum.
