Emery was back in action on Wednesday night when the San Juan Broncos came to town. The Spartans struggled to find their footing early on both the offensive and defensive end, allowing the Broncos to take a commanding 28-8 lead after the opening period.

Emery did a better job in the second quarter, holding San Juan to just seven points and finding the basket. The Spartans began chipping away at the lead and trailed 35-23 at the midway point.

They kept up with the Broncos in the second half and matched them point-for-point. Unfortunately for Emery, the Spartans never were able to climb out of the first-quarter hole. San Juan took care of business with a 74-62 win over the Spartans.

Treven Brazier had a team-high 19 points followed by Beau Cook with 11, Riggs Griffin with 11 and Luke Stilson with 10. Griffin was just one rebound away from a double-double as he led the team with nine.

The Spartans (2-13, 0-7) will next travel to Price on Friday night to play Carbon (11-6, 4-3). The game will be streamed live on ETV Channel 10 and online at etvnews.com/livesports.
