Press Release

The students at San Rafael Middle School recently enjoyed a fun half-day exploring careers and engaging in a Reality Town Simulation. The sixth and seventh graders had the opportunity to listen and ask questions about many different careers. SRMS would like to thank the following: Emery County Sheriff’s Office (law enforcement), Johansen & Tuttle Engineering (engineering), LaNae Jorgensen (radiology), Jordan Leonard (entrepreneurship), Ryan Sharp (Emery Telcom), Hollie Smith (EMT), Jennifer Thomas (psychology) and Tasha Jewkes (photography) for volunteering their time and sharing their expertise.

The eighth grade students participated in a Reality Town Simulation where students get to take a glimpse of an imaginary future. Each student received a life scenario that explained their career, salary and family situation. They then had to juggle financial responsibilities associated with adulthood. SRMS would also like to thank the many volunteers who helped run this simulation.
