Active Re-Entry conducted its 18th annual Santa Paws fundraising event on Dec. 4. Local residents were invited to bring their furry friends to meet Santa and pose for a photo. The event raised funds for Active Re-Entry’s PAWS program.
PAWS is an animal assisted therapy program which relies on volunteers and their certified pet to visit hospital patients, nursing home residents and people in other facilities. The benefits that animals can provide to patients often times outweighs those that people can do for each other in a therapy setting.
