A private charter school bus transporting nearly 30 students crashed on Saturday morning at the overpass in Price.
According to Price City Police Captain Bill Barnes, the incident occurred in the morning hours when the driver of the out-of-town bus failed to see the road closure that begins near Wendy’s in Price. The closure is part of the rehabilitation project on the 100 North bridge.
Reportedly, the driver of the bus did not see the barricades due to sun shining in his eyes. He collided with a barricade, dragging it over 100 feet before coming to a stop.
Barnes reported that 29 students were on the bus at the time, but only one student suffered from “minor bumps and bruises.”
The driver of the bus was cited. Due to traffic already being rerouted in the area, no additional traffic impairment occurred.
